This podcast where Ashley and Chris, two game boys, chat about titles from their personal gaming history. Each episode, one of the hosts presents a game from their childhood, including a brief history of its development and any personal anecdotes. After playing the game off-mic, the second half of the podcast is a discussion of how it holds up and whether the nostalgia factor still stands. Sunday Jun 16, 2024
Tiny but mighty, the Game Boy Advance was home to some absolute bangers, and this week's game Advance Wars is no exception. Offering a fully featured tactics experience on the diminutive console, this one punches way above its weight.

Ep.188 - Braid (PC)
Sunday May 12, 2024
Sunday May 12, 2024
We're taking a spin through the world of Braid this week, this game where you play as a nice guy called Tim who's trying to rescue a princess. Or is he? The game is billed as a commentary on games design itself. Or is it? And the main mechanic is that you can rewind time to retry puzzles. Or do you? Yes, you do. It's a game well-loved by many for its obtuse nature so listen in to see how we fare with it.

Ep.186 - Broken Sword (PC)
Sunday Apr 14, 2024
Sunday Apr 14, 2024
"Paris in the fall, the last months of the year, at the end of the millennium..."
So begins the first Broken Sword game (AKA The Shadow of the Templars AKA Broken Sword 1), this game where George Stobbart avoids death in a bomb blast at a café in a trap set by a clown then decides to find out what on earth caused this to happen, triggering all manner of point and clicking around Paris, Ireland, Syria and other locations. It's held in very high regard by all, and both Ashley and Chris have great memories of the game, so give it a listen to find out whether it holds up!

Ep.185 - South Park (Nintendo 64)
Saturday Apr 13, 2024
Saturday Apr 13, 2024
In the heady days of 1998, with Y2K looming large on the horizon, Napster nary a whisper in the ears of two Seans (or Shawns, depending which one you ask) and Pokémon registering as but a distant rumble for anyone in the West, Matt Stone and Trey Parker were just about hitting their stride in putting the world to rights and making fart jokes with South Park. And then they went and made a game called South Park on the N64, and now we're here, in 2024, telling you if it's any good or not. What a journey!

Ep.184 - Tomb Raider 2 (Sony PlayStation)
Sunday Mar 31, 2024
Sunday Mar 31, 2024
To mark the recent release of Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3 Remastered, Chris takes Ashley down into some deep dark tombs to do some raiding in Tomb Raider 2. Yes, the remastered collection came out two months ago now. Yes, we only did the first one last year. Yes, we hated it when we played it. What a pair of little scamps we are! The sequel was touted as being bigger and better than the first one in every sense so listen in to find out whether we finally get what all the fuss is about.

Ep.183 - Project Zero 2 (Sony PlayStation 2)
Sunday Mar 24, 2024
Sunday Mar 24, 2024
We're back! After a month or so off, we're coming back this week with Project Zero 2, a survival horror game that gave Ashley the willies back in 2003 when he played it and some spooky goings-on happened during gameplay. Using a camera, your objective is to take photos of ghosts as you explore a mysterious village in order to bust them. Did it make us feel good? Listen in to find out!

Ep.182 - Tekken 3 (Sony PlayStation)
Monday Feb 12, 2024
Monday Feb 12, 2024
Biff! Bang! Pow! This week, we're re-appraising Tekken 3, this game where a mystic beast gets unleashed and the only way to appease it is to stage a fighting competition. This is one of the big daddies of fighting games yet Chris hated it as a nipper - what will him and Ashley make of it nowadays?
